Hi, I'm Andy.

I'm a journalist who's helped some of the world's biggest brands find their voice.

Journalism & content

Cars

I’ve reviewed them, sold them and launched them. First came car reviews, then building organic audiences at heycar and, most recently, working inside Jaguar’s electric reinvention.

Community & communications

Outdoors

I help more people get outside. I run in the hills, lead group walks and support outdoor organisations with their communications. I usually come back with a story, a few decent photos and very muddy shoes.

The New Town Project

Roundabouts, concrete and a lot of optimism. The story of Britain’s post-war new towns – from Telford to Milton Keynes and everywhere in between.

How I can help

What I do

Brand and tone of voice

Finding a brand’s voice, then keeping it consistent – from the campaign headline to the smallest app button.

PR and media

A decade in newsrooms taught me what journalists actually want. Since then, I’ve written press releases and speeches, and represented brands as an electric vehicle spokesperson on TV.

Content and campaigns

I’ve grown audiences from scratch – through search, newsletters and social – and written campaigns that get people to act.

Journalism and features

Features, reviews and explainers for newspapers, magazines and websites. I’ve been an editor myself, so you’ll get clean copy, on time – with photos if you need them.

A bit about me

Shropshire-based, usually somewhere muddy

I live in Shropshire, and when I’m not writing you’ll find me in the hills – running, riding my bike or trying to take a half-decent photo. I’m also endlessly curious about the places most people drive straight through, which is how a soft spot for Britain’s new towns turned into a project of its own.

I still write like a journalist – find the real story, cut anything that doesn’t earn its place, file on time. A few years inside a global brand taught me the other half: listening to everyone with an opinion, without losing sight of the reader.

Let's talk.
